To enter a student must have an “Active” graduate or undergraduate student membership, he or she must have been assessed the full Rec Center fee each semester. The student being considered “full-time”, with 12 undergraduate hours or 9 graduate hours on the Huntington Campus, determines this.
Any full or part time student with off-campus or online classes, may have been assessed none, or part, of the recreation fee. The difference can be paid in full, or in 2 or 3 installments at the Recreation Center. The installments are only applicable in the spring and fall semesters. If the student wishes to not pay the difference, they will remain an “Inactive” student, and must purchase a daily guest pass to enter.
A liability waiver will need to be signed; verification of student information and a picture will be taken to process the membership.
All students must provide a current, valid Marshall University ID to enter the building.
Students who have yet to receive or have lost their ID should get a temporary card from ID Services, located in the Student Center, indicating that a card is being processed. The temporary ID card and picture ID must be brought on each visit for access.
Marshall students who wish to gain access to the Recreation Center but have not been assessed the full Recreation fee, may elect one of the following options:
- Pay the difference in three (3) equal installments, with the first payment due at time of signing. Additional installments will be drafted the following months.
- Pay the difference in two (2) equal installments, with the first payment due at time of signing. One (1) additional installment will be drafted the following month.
- Pay the $6 daily rate (these payments will not be credited towards the full fee).
Although this fee can be spread over 2 or 3 months, this is not a monthly membership fee. The student is required to pay all the payments necessary to reach the full fee. Membership cannot be refunded.
Students opting to pay the installments are required to place a valid Visa/MasterCard on file.
