Membership Types

Marshall Employees/Associates

$38/month with a contract
Campus Recreation welcomes current employees, university retirees, and adjunct faculty/staff at the lowest membership rate available. Marshall Employees are eligible for payroll deduction. An auto-draft form must be completed and turned in at the Welcome Desk. Verifying identification is required, such as your Marshall ID or proof of retirement.

Marshall Associates

Associate members are employees of associated entities who work full-time on behalf of the university’s mission. These members include: Mountwest Community College, Marshall University Foundation, Inc., Big Green Foundation, Inc., Marshall’s University Physicians and Surgeons, Inc., Marshall University Research Corporation, eFollette, Sodexho and all other approved contracted or outsourced employees working on behalf of Marshall University. Proof of associate relationship with Marshall University is required upon membership registration.

Alumni

Show your Marshall spirit and join the Rec as a Marshall Alumni member! Alumni are defined as individuals that have attended Marshall University or are members of the Alumni Association. Proof of graduation or Alumni Association Membership is required.

Recent Marshall University Alumni

Recent Alumni are defined as individuals that have attended Marshall University within the past 12 months. Recent graduates will receive a one-time discount for the first year if joining within 12 months of graduation date.

Friends & Affiliates

$52/month with contract
Friends & Affiliates regularly make contributions to the University through their services and financial contributions. These members include: Members of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation, Marshall University Foundation, employees of Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, HIMG, King’s Daughters Medical Center, or VA Medical Center. Other prospective Friends and Affiliates members should contact the President’s office for approval; written verification is required for membership registration.

Spouse, Dependents and Significant Others

$28/month with contract
This membership type can only be purchased in conjunction with an active member. Two of the following criteria must be met:
-Proof of joint financial responsibility
-Same last name
-Marriage license
-Same residence along with verifying identification
Children and dependents age 15 and under may register to access the facility at no charge. They must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Marshall Health Fitness Program

Are you ready to meet a healthier you?
Marshall Health and Marshall Campus Recreation have teamed up to create Marshall Health Fitness, a new employee wellness program for PEIA subscribers who have chosen Marshall Health as their medical home.
Marshall Health and Marshall Campus Recreation have teamed up to create Marshall Fitness, a new employee wellness program for PEIA subscribers who have chosen Marshall Health as their medical home.

Here’s how it works:
As a Marshall Health Fitness participant, you will receive an annual Rec Center membership for $25 per month with a fitness program tailored to your needs. Participants must make a 1-year commitment to the fitness program and will be required to do the following:

-Within 6 weeks of joining the program you should have a one-on-one personal training session including an initial fitness assessment conducted by campus recreation staff.

-Schedule and participate in quarterly fitness assessments, which include bio-metric screenings.

-Have your cholesterol, blood pressure, glucose levels, and other health related information regularly checked and submitted to your Primary Care Physician.

-Participate in individual or group activity at the Rec Center a minimum of four times in each 3 month period

-Abide by all other terms of the Marshall Recreation Center Membership agreement.

-If you haven’t made Marshall Health as your medical home, please click here to enroll.

Make it a family affair!
If you participate in the program, your dependents/significant other/spouse who have PEIA insurance and have also elected Marshall Health as their medical home may participate as a secondary member with the same annual membership at the discounted $25 per month rate (the same program requirements apply).
