Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Canned Food Drive to be Held Nov. 26-Dec.2

The Marshall Athletics Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will hold its annual canned food drive from Nov. 26 through Dec. 2 The drive will also partner with Kroger and 93.7 FM The Dawg to give donors more opportunities to give back this holiday season.
The group will collect canned goods at Gate A at the Marshall vs. East Carolina football game (Nov. 26, 3:30 p.m.) and the Marshall vs. Ohio men’s basketball game (Nov. 30, 7 p.m)


During that time, the group will also collect food at the Marshall Recreation Center and Memorial Student Center and three additional satellite locations. The group will collect on Wednesday, Nov. 30 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Kroger on 5th Avenue, on Thursday, Dec. 1st from 11-1 at the Kroger on 7th Avenue and on Friday, Dec. 2nd at the Kroger in Barboursville from 3-5 p.m as well. The Dawg will also be on hand via a live remote at all three locations.


The drive is part of Conference USA’s “Let’s SAAC Hunger Program”. Each school in the conference works with the local community to conduct a campus-wide food drive for one week during the fall semester. Marshall student-athletes will be on hand at the Kroger locations to assist with the donation process.
