Instruction Programs

Take advantage of these non-credit instruction courses which are progressive in nature and focus on experiential learning, skill building, mind-body wellness and fitness. Classes are available throughout the year in various areas that include aquatics, yoga, dance, fitness training, martial arts and safety training.

Group Fitness
Check out our free, no commitment, Group Fitness program for a variety of classes. Classes are available for all fitness levels. We currently offer lots of fun group fitness classes such as Body Sculpting, Zumba, Sport Circuit and more!

Personal Training
Marshall University Recreation Center Personal Trainers help our members and non-members reach fitness goals and improve health, one hour at a time. Our Personal Trainers are MU Exercise Physiology students and degreed professionals. Each Trainer is qualified to lead clients through effective personalized sessions, with emphasis on proper technique and safety. Find out about our Personal Training Packages.


Fitness Assessments

Fitness Assessments are available to members and non-members for a fee. See Personal Training fee chart for details. A free Fitness Assessment is included in personal training packages and will be conducted during the first session. Personal Training clients may also use a regular training session for re-assessment, at no additional charge.

Rules And Policies

The following is a list of the general rules and regulations for the use of the Marshall Recreation Center. Violations of these policies may result in, but are not limited to, the following actions: removal from the building, suspension of membership privileges and/or referral to the Marshall University Department of Public Safety, Marshall Police.
