Full-time undergraduate/graduate/professional students attending the Huntington Campus are automatically assessed the $169 fee per semester. A valid Marshall University Student ID is required for entrance. All part-time students attending the Huntington Campus are assessed a fee on a prorated basis according to the number of credit hours taken up to 11 credit hours for undergraduates and 8 for graduate/professional students. Undergraduate students are assessed $14.25 per credit hour, and graduate students are assessed $19.00 per credit hour, with $169 being the maximum amount charged per term. To access the facility, students may either choose to pay the difference between their assessment, or pay $6 per visit to the Recreation Center. For more information click here. Off semester students who are not enrolled for the current semester may purchase a membership at the voluntary student rate with proof of enrollment from the previous or upcoming semester. Single entry passes are available for purchase at the time of visit. Guests must provide a picture ID/eligibility for entry. Guest passes are valid for one day only. Alumni are defined as individuals who have graduated from Marshall University, and are members of the Alumni Association. This membership category is capped and subject to non-renewal on an annual basis. Proof of graduation and Alumni Association Membership is required upon registration. Current Marshall Employees and retirees are eligible for membership. Associate members are employees of associated entities who work full-time on behalf of the University's mission. These members include: Mountwest Community Technical College, Marshall University Foundation, Inc., Big Green Foundation, Inc., Marshall University Physicians and Surgeons, Inc., Marshall University Research Corporation, E Follett, Sodexo, and all other approved contracted or outsourced employees working on behalf of Marshall University. Proof of associate relationship with Marshall University is required upon membership registration. Current Marshall Employees and retirees are eligible for membership. Spouse/significant other/dependent may purchase a membership at a discounted rate; must satisfy two of the following criteria: proof of joint financial responsibility, same last name, marriage license, or same residence along with verifying identification for the member. Children and/or dependents age 15 and under may register to access the facility at no charge. A birth certificate is required for registration, and they are also must be directly supervised at all times by a parent or guardian. Children are not allowed to use the fitness and weight equipment on the second and third floor; access is limited during the academic year from 6:00am to 6:00pm Monday-Thursday and Friday, Saturday and Sunday all day. Throughout the summer months and academic break periods, children are allowed unlimited access.
Friends and Affiliates regularly make contributions to the University through their services and financial contributions. These members include: members of the Big Green Scholarship Foundation, Marshall University Foundation, Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary's Medical Center, HIMG, King's Daughters Medical Center, and the VA Medical Center. Other prospective Friends and Affiliate members should contact the President's Office for approval; written verification is required for membership registration. This membership category is capped and subject to nonrenewal on an annual basis.
Payment options include Visa/Mastercard, cash, check, or Electronic Fund Transfer. Payroll deduction is available for Full-time (24 pay) Marshall Employees and Research Corporation. To be eligible for payroll deduction, debit/credit card, or EFT, patron must obtain a 12 month membership. If cancellation occurs before the 12 month commitment, a $50 fee will be assessed.
