The 123,000 square foot facility contains wood gym courts for basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickle ball and dodge ball; a 45’ climbing wall; outdoor pursuits center; aquatics center with 3 lap swim lanes, leisure pool, vortex pool and 20 person spa; men’s and women’s locker rooms; family changing areas with lockers; 17,000 square feet of fitness space on the second and third floor with free weights, selectorized machines with LCD televisions; 4 group exercise rooms; a 3 lane 1/7th mile walking/jogging/running track; massage area; fitness assessment room; juice bar; lounge areas and staff offices. Immediately east of the pool is an outdoor, fenced area for sunning and relaxing. The entire facility is accessible for persons with disabilities.

Floor Plans

Our facilities are top-notch, state-of-the-art facilities, built in 2009. The Marshall Recreation Center is 123,000 square feet. It houses swimming pools, a 1/7 mile running track, group exercise rooms, basketball, volleyball, racquetball, badminton and pickleball courts and a climbing wall. The facility also will be equipped with a wide range of exercise equipment, including treadmills, step machines and weight machines.

We have a Wellness Center within the Recreation Center that is available to students as well. The Wellness Center is open Monday-Thursday from 8:00am-8:00pm and Friday 10:00am-6:00pm.

Fitness Areas

Over 17,000 square feet is dedicated to fitness space on the second and third floor. The areas feature synthetic flooring; overhead fans and indirect lighting; big screen televisions, Life Fitness, Woodway and Precor treadmills; Life Fitness upright and recumbent bikes; Life Fitness and Precor elliptical exercise machines, Concept II rowers; Life Fitness/Hammer Strength and Signature free weights, dumbbells, selectorized weight machines and plate loaded equipment; Iron Grip urethane weight plates.

Many of the electronic machine feature LCD televisions. On the second floor is a fitness work station for fitness specialist employees. Level 2 square footage – 10, 012 Level 3 square footage – 7,020

Fitness Studios

The north and south ends of the second floor contain the 4 fitness studios. Classes including yoga, indoor spinning, belly dancing, kickboxing, step aerobics and others will be conducted. The impressive rooms provide expansive views of the outdoors, electrically controlled blinds, wood floors, sound systems and big fans to keep you cool. Gymnasium Area

Four court wood gym floors for basketball, volleyball, badminton, dodgeball and pickleball use. The gym will be scheduled for formal programs such as IM Sports, Fitness Programs and Instructional Programs.

The space features maple wood floors, wireless scoreboards, divider curtains and retractable basketball baskets. Square footage – 18,812

Climbing Wall

The 37’ climbing wall is available for individual and group climbing. It includes a free climbing 8’
bouldering area and routes for climbing while on belay. The 3 story wall can be viewed from outside the facility, has a spectator area on the second floor and is accessed from the first floor. Square footage – 1,049

Aquatics Center

Components include 3 lane pool for lap swimming, a 20 person spa, a vortex pool, leisure pool and pool office. The pool is 3.5 feet deep. In the summer months, an outdoor sunning deck is available.

Locker Rooms

The men’s and women’s locker rooms are located on the first floor across from the racquetball courts.
Both yearly rental and daily lockers can be used. The phenolic lockers and ceramic tile provide an upscale look to the area. Daily lockers have digi locks which enable members to use a personalized 4 digit code to lock and unlock the locker. A suitmate water extractor can be used to remove water from wet bathing suits. Eleven private, individual showers are provided in each locker room. Pool access is gained through the locker rooms. Square footage – Women’s – 2,445; Men’s – 2,305

Racquetball Courts

Three courts are provided on the first floor adjacent to the locker rooms. All courts have a storage compartment for small items, a back glass wall with court #1 having a glass side wall. Two of the courts are convertible to wallyball. Square footage – 2,400
